The Poverty Song

wilbur sargunaraj I first learned about Wilbur Sargunaraj from Anand Rajaram and later saw him perform at Anand’s wedding. Wilbur is the most first class of first class artists out there. CLICK HERE to HEAR Poverty: Affecting people just like you and me I’m going to take you into A world that we’re scared of. To visit our friends You say they’re so unclean. You can keep living in your world And deny them This is not the right way You’ll see what I mean. Don’t live for money It’s not worth the fight. Share what you have And let’s distribute it right. Learn to be simple So we all can simply live. Don’t turn away from others And make sure you always give. Poverty Affecting people just like you and me Do you know what neoliberal policies can do? Supporting corporations but not me and you. Why not join our hands and our voices today? Make the world so happy there is another way. Don’t live for money It’s not worth the fight. Share what you have And let’s distribute it right. Learn to be simple So we all can simply live. Don’t turn away from others And make sure you always give. This is my plea! End poverty! If you have the money share it! This is my plea! End poverty! Stop all that shopping! This is my plea! End Poverty! This is first class! This is my plea! End poverty! Let’s break some down! Don’t live for money It’s not worth the fight. Share what you have And let’s distribute it right. Learn to be simple So we all can simply live. Don’t turn away from others And make sure you always give.

Lick My Decals Off Baby

Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band advertised their  4th record, on television late at night circa 1970 by making a commercial.  Click here to see. So many people love him but I never tuned in exactly until having myself a little youtube marathon this evening.

Numerous enjoyable pieces I listened/watched, especially memorable was David Letterman asking him what Captain Beefheart meant,  he answered     “A beef in my heart against the society”, then he gave an animal rights example about pelicans murdered in twisted ways near Los Angeles.

Lick My Decals Off Baby was a way of saying to judge things by their merit vs. their association. Obama was 9 years old when his personal favourite Beefheart record was released by Frank Zappa.
