don’t know what you’re doing

You keep track of press especially flattering press because it’s like currency and gets traded into more work. I’ve had a leg up with quotable responses about my music occasionally from the famous (Odetta, David Byrne, Guy Maddin) which were awesome and unexpected. But the best compliment ever wasn’t something I could use to impress any magazine or publicist. It was when song writer Sam Larkin, who’s hundreds of songs always in the key of G, said to me “I don’t know what you’re doing but I like it a lot”.
