prefer the individual

I was reading some material that talked about contemporary composers extending the ideas of John Cage. I wonder what that means and how boring it might be? I love John Cage, for me he turned everything inside out and at the same time I find listening to music that removed the “individual”, torture. The very reason why I admire him is why I can’t stand him.  Reflecting nature and challenging man’s need to organize melodies and rhythms is as cool as listening to waves from the ocean which is pretty cool but not what turns me on compared to whatever next Gnarles Barclay is making up with that unique voice. What a voice.
