A teacher I had long ago who gave students many more insults than compliments once said something flattering about me while I was playing. He turned to Anne and pointed at me, “you can’t teach people how to do that” he said. I went to the open stage last monday. I like guitars that can fall on the ground, if i can dent it or scratch it I feel better than if it is super expensive. Nothing wrong with having a good instrument but personally it distracts me from the job I’m doing. Amazing how often I’ve seen people perform who don’t have a lot of facility but managed to buy an expensive guitar. Sometimes I believe they think they are accomplished because they own a better than ordinary instrument.

The mind, body, and soul are the priceless instruments. Take care of these things, and you can make anything sound like a million bucks.
