It is way more common to feel correct about failing than it is to realize you are hitting the mark. When I work with someone and the technique they wish to achieve is elusive they are all about how amazing that thing is they wish they could do. If they get there, they no longer marvel at it. Now it’s behind them and something new replaces the former desire in the exact same way. They are still amazed but it is about something else that they cannot yet do. Hardly anyone grooves off of what they can do except show offs, but I would argue the show off position is something else altogether. It has more in common with feelings of failure than achievement, just look at Trump. It’s almost like it isn’t natural to not be frustrated about unattainable goals.
