the forming of opinions

Years ago, I noticed that even though I dislike advertisements polluting public space, my space, my media, interrupting movies, baseball games, yada yada, I had to admit when it came to needing some sort of product to solve some problem in life, often what went through my head was the companies that had been advertised to me. No matter what I thought about them, their names would come to me because it was actively transmitted earlier and passively absorbed. Bloomberg is now in third place just because he has advertised himself by spending 250 million dollars on commercials..proves it all over again. The radio plays that song over and over because someone is paying for them to do it, and the listener absorbs it and questions not where it came from or who profits from perpetuating it. They might even think that they “discovered” that artist (by independently listening to that station).
