Saw the Joker. The score was awesome. Wonder how much was the director’s vision, how much was the composer’s? How much was them fighting about it or not? A lot of beautiful suspended low cello droans and similar, to me at times, to the brass swells by Bernard Hermann in Taxi Driver, not that I’m trying to say it was an imitation, because it wasn’t.

Saw the Irishman. A third of the time, wondered what’s the point of making this film? The other third was liking the pictures, the slo-mo effects and stylistic action without dialogue. The last third was loving the musical choices and room sounding mic placement around percussion or accordion.
