the boulder in the lake

I didn’t understand the lyrics to the song the young woman in the songwriting class submitted and so I asked. She said it was about the fact that everyone is worrying and it’s like the way a stone thrown into a pool of water makes ripples that are seen for a while and then no more and it’s like death is a boulder in everyone’s life and it’s thrown into the lake of your life and because it’s a boulder it’s the biggest splash that ever will happen to you and it makes the biggest waves and everyone knows the end will come, everyone lives with knowing death is coming, that their waves will become stilled and it’s what makes this sort of constant state of low level worry or panic always present so that’s what it’s about.
