Thinking about R. Murray Schafer’s book about teaching music. He asks young people how many religions they believe in, they each answer one (their own) and then he asks them how many types of music they listen to and they have several answers. He concludes we see music as something more fluid than religion. Then he takes a piece of paper and plays the best game of listening ever. Asks them to try passing it without ever making a noise.
