At the meeting of the Friends Of The Reticular Formation, one of the panelists said there is an argument in the head, a pleading inside oneself to change one’s behaviour. An internal grovelling position assumed by one part of consciousness which then pleads with another part hoping to acquire permission to change, sort of forever positioned like a child pleading for candy from their parent and yet the part pleading also believes it is steering the ship ….and in some ways it does actually steer the ship. It’s a crazy risk life takes positioning humankind like that, but then again so many other manifestations of life are positioned to rip each other apart and recklessly destroy life, then maybe it isn’t so unusual. Sort of like the person who wants to think because they have a sampler that they are a musician too and they are, but they aren’t.
