I checked out David Crosby’s last release, it was from 2021 and called For Free. I wondered if it was a reference to Joni Mitchell’s song fifty years earlier. I enjoyed it. While listening through one song and then the next, I wondered if it’s title was just coincidence and then, halfway through, For Free by Joni Mitchell came on. Very sweet and his 80 year old voice sounded not much different than his whole lifetime of past recordings. Beautiful that he nods at her while they both are still alive. Especially considering she broke up with him by writing a song about breaking up with him, debuting it before him and their friends at a party. Methinks he went out classier.
