One of my fave podcasts is A Special Place in Hell with Sara Haider and Meghan Daum. The other night they had Ana Kasparian on. Listening to them gab about assumptions and expectations and moments of reversals of thought makes me think about the first time I saw Laurie Anderson or Sun Ra or that drummer from Mars Freddie Waits. Certain experiences with art can turn you inside out and make you start over in terms of what you think life is all about.
