Even paper money and any other papers are best removed from pockets. Can&#8217;t play with rings on my fingers either. It&#8217;s distracting. Don&#8217;t know how Liberace did it. I try to hide the wedding ring removal from the ladies because they especially notice and give me strange looks. But when I played with violaist Anna Redekop few years ago and as I apologized for my weirdness removing my change and my wedding ring she cut me off and said &#8220;I can&#8217;t play if I&#8217;m wearing nail polish&#8221;. That was so great. I have never since felt apologetic knowing now that there are musicians like her.
