A few weeks after John Lennon was murdered and much of the world was in shock I clearly remember the surprise of the sudden appearance in record stores of a 45 by Roxy Music with the words “A Tribute” – a cover Jealous Guy. So much more meaningful than the non stop news cycle about the murderer or the grieving Beatle fans. Loved Bryan Ferry for that.<\/p>\n

Many\u00a0tribute songs emerged over the years, the one I like most\u00a0is by Estonian band – Ruja. Maybe because English isn’t their first language they nail the sort of primitive raw thing John Lennon sometimes did so perfectly. “You’re in our hearts we don’t leave your parts”<\/p>\n
