I have lived without a tv for decades but Boxing day I bought one for $400. It has all the bells and whistles of modern tvs. Being a cinefile I wondered a few times about the modern tube machines. It used to be five thousand dollars, then two thousand dollars, then one thousand and recent years one would spend about $700. As it turns out my Vitamix was more expensive than the television.
