When I was a kid I had a lot of favourite records and listened all the time. A few had lyrics with meanings that were different when I listened later in life. Didn’t know what Joni Mitchell meant in Court and Spark. The male character was “looking for someone to court and spark”. I am an oatmeal guy, when Mick Jagger sung “brown sugar how come you taste so good”, I understood immediately. On the White Album, McCartney sung “why don’t we do it in the road” I knew this probably meant play soccer or ball hockey even baseball, right in the middle of the f’n the road.
