Formulating my paper\/ proposal. Looks like a study of two songwriters who are pretty different from each other, singer songwriter and rapper. I’ll follow them through writing, rehearsing, performing and be a little academic scientist. Look at how songs solve problems but that’s too simple for all the judges who stand between me and the piece of paper, must punch it up. Originally said how songwriting solved problems of justice but that didn’t fly (though closer to the inner workings of my mind). Will settle on teaching a course one day with that title if any deans around the word are reading this – hello deans! what are you doing slacking off reading this?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Want to include the open stages. maybe the research culminates with performing their song at open mics, maybe I try a group interview with the audience? How would I ever make that work? Probably need to arrange a meeting for that purpose, snacks and free toothbrushes. Is that not how all the pro researchers do it? Incumbent upon me to explain the currents of thought on this. Weird how many people in Academic land want to talk about accessibility and equity and respect for other ways of learning (and Foucault every second) and can’t allow someone to write about something unless they can quote so and so who said such and such which is different than what so and so said earlier who believed such and such but don’t forget so and so over hear believes such and such, take that. Just lines of thought. Why should one line of thought mean anything at all? It is Charlie’s line of thought and Bertha thinks different and Freddie sees it all different still. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

There is a view where all are valid so why can’t we drop that and let me follow my intuition. Isn’t that what everyone always did anyway? Followed their intuition and something cool happened or didn’t. After I do the work we could have a more meaningful conversation. Explaining your work before you have done it is so backwards. Like applying for a grant and you have to explain what your artwork will be when you have not yet made it.
