I wonder where she heard it, who told her, what I should say. Yes it is I answered but I didn’t like imagining her huddling by the wading pool with other 6 year olds embarrassing herself when she says fock you, so I told her how to pronounce it, rhymes with luck and duck. I first heard about it in grade 2. Didn’t have clue. Josh made a big deal out of Leonard using it and told the rest of us you aren’t suppose to say it. His 7 year old incredulity always stayed with me. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I felt it myself on Son of Schmilsson. I loved that record and all its mysteries. \u00a0The bizarre sequence of songs Harry Nilsson sung from being in outer space to singing sarcastically in a retirement home to belching before a ballad to “you’re breaking my heart, you tear it apart so fuck you”. After he died, at the memorial George Harrison turned to one of Nilsson’s Los Angeles friends and said “you know my favourite Harry song?” “which?” responded the musician. “fuck you” said George and the guy didn’t understand how he upset him. George said it a few more times and had to remind him of the song before the guy understood. Also heard it earlier on Working Class Hero, Lennon used it more politically and Nilsson emotionally but Liz Phair made it both political and emotional and maybe something more when she wrote the absolutely amazing “fuck and run”.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
