Last year there was a young man in the songwriting class that didn’t know what to do with the journal request. They were asked to keep daily journals to help become songwriters, keeping a diary often nurtures songwriting. He said he doesn’t have anything to write about, so I said please try to write about that. He didn’t like that respone. At the end of the year his songs were about waiting for the bus and hating the city he lived in but reconsidering his feelings after encountering someone who loved the same city and its services. Another song was about a soccer team that didn’t believe in itself. Another song was about a woman he wished would notice him who never did and telling himself that it is ok. At the end of the course I think he still thought all he did was write about nothing. Perhaps down the road he’ll understand why he got an A.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
