Certain insane people in positions of power need to eliminate the artists because in art they have the power of ruining the propaganda of the crazy leader who fears unsanctioned ideas. Lawyers can make up terms but we all laugh at the ridiculousness the first time they call it intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a young woman in my class into K-pop, she found it exhilarating. When she talked about it said further pleasure lay in not understanding Korean. I’m not sure what her fellow students thought but I was on the fence about that too. Shouldn’t you understand it to love it? Yesterday, listening to a playlist while walking through High Park, Harry Nilsson’s Coconut song came on. She or her brother got sick from mixing the lime and a coconut and called the doctor who said call him back tomorrow morning. I don’t know what the fuck Harry was trying to say but I find it exhilarating anytime it’s played. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later on the same playlist Joan Armatrading’s Love and Affection came on. Still amazing, maybe more for consistently punching me out since 1970whatever, but this time I realized there’s a goddamn string machine after the first verse. This isn’t an orchestra, it’s the way a keyboardist would play a string machine. If I did this I could never get past hearing the insincerity of playing a string machine instead of believable string players and yet I love it. This is a crisis as big as the entire string synth throughout the Call Me record by Al Green. Your ass gets sore sitting on a fence but I’m stuck here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
