I knew some improvisors in a band and one of them very much disliked another. It was awkward because I liked both of their talents quite a lot. I felt sorry for them, that one was just trying to improvise and the other was also just trying to improvise but his displeasure was making the band a less desirable experience. Had to read some garblygook for a course and since it was garblygook I decided to copy and paste together just the first sentences of every paragraph. That read to me like an improvement. Then I took the conclusion and cut up the sentences like William Burroughs, stringing them back randomly. I liked this new conclusion better than the original. If I was a betting man I’d say you couldn’t tell them apart. Lastly, I made haikus out of the remaining text. By the end I felt like I understood the material better than when I started. It’s still largely undesirable garblygook, to me anyway. One of my classmates is a fan of this material and probably I offended him with my unauthorized surgeries.
