I realized a few years ago that physical product was dead. I heard it first probably reading Bob Lefsetz’s music business blogging where in 2008 he said the CD is dead. I thought really? And the next minute I thought, yep he’s right, it is. I still have a whack of CDs and vinyl. My plans if the world returns to being a world where people perform before audiences, is to slowly get rid of all that merch by giving it away at shows. It makes sense right?
