They looked like books, one definitely seemed a bible, but no pages you could flip through, somehow embossed or painted or glued. It was the 80s and the 90s. Another person who I knew a little but not too much, made unexpected art happenings. He was then known as Gordon W., maybe still is? I witnessed a hot dog cart performance, one time at Queen and John. It was amazing. I can’t explain it but I was as grateful as when I saw Laurie Anderson in an art gallery playing violin-tape-head prior to being a recording artist. Yesterday I passed a store on Bloor while walking to the Tranzac, it was next door to the member of parliament Julie Dzerowicz’s office. Her large picture in the window, smiling in colour being the progressive pal of Justin Trudeau and the slogan “working hard for Davenport”, pretty normal but exactly next door, whoever lives there replicated her poster in black and white and printed in large letters underneath Julie Dzerowicz Doesn’t Give A Damn About You. It’s incredible. It’s Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention making We’re Only In It For The Money following Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club. It’s that stunning plus slogans reading War is Peace/ Freedom Is Slavery/ Ignorance Is Strength. Next election I might volunteer and canvass for her evil twin.

There’s a guy who used to install artworks in unexpected places, telephone poles, and they were tactile, fastened with possibilities of rotation, you couldn’t vandalize ’em, they didn’t come off, […]

[1

entry","author-rockbob","post-6585","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-uncategorized
["GET
