I’ve seen chiropractors all my life. I like their point of view on health and I love being cracked, often exclaiming whoa with an exclamation mark. I make the chiropractors laugh with the volume of my congratulations. My own laugh can be distinct too, more than one comedian friend has said they knew when I was in the crowd. And yet I’m trying to practice keeping quiet or not taking the bait in so many set ups. John McWhorter’s book Woke Racism has been impressing me very much this week and I didn’t disagree when he wrote people seek hostility, as if it is a natural state of humankind.
