Last assignment, like laying an egg. Due tomorrow, technically the last of three assignments, all go the same time tomorrow. I don’t mind these problems, the academic paper problems. I like Google Scholar and even using footnotes. I like playing with structure of my writing and fine tuning sequences, though it probably would be more fun if I could rent an editor, one whose talent was critical and illuminating without psychological fisticuffs. Got the feedback on my lit review this morning. Now I’m supposed to explain more about something I have not yet created. An age old problem. Especially where grants are available and gatekeepers expect explanations. Do they all know we are agreeing to a system of eternal bullshitting? Is Ornette supposed to explain what his solo is about before he blows? I guess so. I had an exchange with a multi-instrumentalist I have not seen in years.
