I knew this guy in grade 8, he was decent and even great and we\u2019re friends on facebook but we haven\u2019t really had an in person relationship since those ancient times. when I realized I was going to spend a week with my mother in Winnipeg and a car rental would be one more thousand dollar problem, I thought maybe I\u2019ll join one of those use-a-car-by-the-hour programs like in Toronto. I wrote a smattering of Winnipeg friends to ask if they were familiar but this guy, also a bob, replied he would be out of town at the time and I could just use his car.

I never know how to explain the difference to people about being from Winnipeg but he sort of summed it up right then and there. the provincial slogan on the license plate does say Friendly Manitoba. In fact this morning I came to a 4 way stop and a woman coming from the other direction also came to it and she smiled at me as if to say isn\u2019t it amazing we are human beings driving cars and using traffic signs and traffic lights? my ESP could be faulty but I never get that impression from other drivers where I live in toronto.
