I didn’t know a lot about Bob Nasmith. After he died I read many more details, about Vietnam, about regular nudity and about Chopin. I just knew him as one of the actors I loved in every next instalment of Video Cabaret’s Village of The Small Huts. I saw him at the Cameron often, he lived there. I missed him performing Krapp’s Last Tape, too bad for me. At the memorial today, my favourite part was his daughter telling the assembled that he asked her to have him cremated and give the ashes to her mother in case of bad winter weather (pause) I’ll finally be of some use to her.
