The series The Ozarks, I watched a year or two ago. The amazing acting of the woman who played Darlene Snell stood out for me. I’ve known people exactly like her and it scares me. Since getting a big tv I started noticing what’s on and realized there is a season four of Ozarks. I started and couldn’t stop. Darlene Snell was back and in a sort of alternate universe to Ruth Gordon in Harold and Maude. Whew. Just as surprising, Richard Thomas playing a bastard, I only knew him in the Waltons, which I never endured for more than twenty seconds. It was interesting realizing slowly he reminded me of someone and then, that he was that guy. Best moment of surrealism (and there are many) was the cameo of Killer Mike (of Bernie Sanders fame). The musical choices are all smart and interesting. What an amazing job to be the person who suggests what music to play. I’m supposed to assist a professor who is teaching about the music business this term. They’re teaching it via a book about various usual things from registering songs to the “how to” of grant applications. But the thing you can’t really teach anyone is that most of the time it’s about who you know. My money’s on the music supervisor not holding a degree in music and not needing to, but being friends with people who liked their taste and probably biggest reason of all, they get along with everyone. Even though she scares me, I like the way Darlene Snell does business. How she doesn’t think twice about killing someone who pisses her off. For teaching the music business, they should just hold group therapy sessions. I bet it does even more for helping people get their bearings. Besides, what is more useful for navigating the various personalities from kind to asshole, that exist in the music business and every other workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
