I have a lot of dead friends on Facebook. It is a little extraordinary or maybe not. Maybe others like me who have been on this over a decade, have similar ghosts staring back at them from time to time. To delete them occurs to me, why not? And yet I also enjoy that second or so of thinking they are there before I remember they are not. Part of the magic of the last hundred years has been recorded sounds. There are all sorts of people who I know musically from studying their recordings. Some even died long ago but I have a real relationship with them.
