Last month a student shared her feelings of rejection after a critical review for an event she played at school. The critics shared unkind observations and their words cut deep, she was hurt. It doesn’t matter if I explain the critic is not more important or significant than her. She was inconsolable. I said they are just like your little brother or the person next you on the subway. She said you don’t know what it’s like. I said I do. Sometimes people add comments to posts I write, comments that completely miss my point or wish to attack me. She asked do you delete them? I hide them, it is better. If you delete them they know and sometimes next you have a war on your hands, but if you hide them nobody further reads it (which you found meaningless in the first place) but they get to keep thinking they are so smart and loud. Woke up from a dream, myself and someone else stuck in an underground maze. Could only follow tunnels and moved on our bellies, it was narrow. Could not comprehend where the tunnels started or ended. Reflected on the nightmarish situation after regaining consciousness, especially that it was simply a problem while in the dream state, one I couldn’t solve. A sense of relief within the dream I never grasped how claustrophobic and ruinous it could have been emotionally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
