The first person at the open stage sung a song about how their parents met. The second sung something about being Sikh. The third student in our open stage played a song about depression, a song that insinuated depression was the natural state of things and that everyone on some level battles depression because their own impermanence and the unknown pain of how they will die, is in the back of their mind. The forth’s song was about wordplay and being cute. The fifth read their poetry which surprised me, it was more vulnerable and detailed than I assumed based on them being shy and previously not seeming this vulnerable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
