There was a trio who played polkas but they thought of themselves as punk rockers. People thought it was amusing that they played 2\/4 in the indie clubs. If they were asked about polka music when being interviewed they became indignant. Young community radio volunteers, who sincerely asked about their love of polka would get hurt in interviews when they scowled. Eventually they had a break, their comedian friend got to do his own show and asked them to write the theme song. That polka went viral and their reputation took on a large following across the country and of course then even more media and fans called them that amazing polka band.
