There is a tall skinny student in my class who bears a striking resemblance to Dallas Good. He never heard of him or them. A few weeks ago he was performing a rap and related some of his life story to the class, a difficult beginning with some shocks to it. Afterward, I sent him an email about Dallas and a link to the Sadies. Told him how often I see a resemblance between them. When he wrote back he said he could see it. It has happened to me but I never see the resemblance they are talking about. Big Rude Jake told me when he first met me that people mistake him for me. I still have no idea what that meant but I did like it when I was a kid and people could tell I was the younger brother of my older brothers. I seem to recall strangers asking if I was the younger brother of this one or that one, they were just curious and I answered yes and they felt smart about themselves. A young woman last night at the open stage told a story off the top and she seemed goofy and I expected her song to be goofy but it was super serious and interesting both for the surprising British folk take narration and the unexpected directions of her melodies.
