Surprised to read both Mccartney and Stevie Wonder are on the new Rolling Stones record. By chance I had already listened to it two weeks ago but I replayed it tonight after realizing the two guest stars were also present. Very curious to hear what other colours they added. As it turns out they do not overwhelm. It is an interesting rocker “bite my head off” that McCartney jams along to but I was so hoping to hear his bass line be melodic and front and center. I thought about that style Mick Jagger and Keith Richards developed as younger people and wondered about being in one’s 80s. You can’t really know what an age is like until you reach it, still, can one continue performing\/ singing\/ writing from the same view as was their youth? Or does that inevitably look as meaningless as the philosopher who asked if people noticed how the elderly don’t wear the hairstyles of youth or latest fashions. True no? The song with Stevie Wonder is a gospel sounding piano, which is fine but gawd! If it only sounded instead like anything reminiscent of Mr. Wonder on a clavinet or a moog in the 70s, they would really have succeeded in decapitting this listener.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
