I love how Mary Harrington writes, addressing us trying to control the physical world by embracing technology. She addresses body modifications in ways I find both shocking and believable. For instance people acquiring surgery to be taller, rods inserted into their legs. Doesn’t matter they risk arthritis, joint contracture, dislocations, nerve damage and muscle damage. The entitlement thing is what she makes me think about. Should we reimagine our bodies via technology? Isn’t that what they mean by first world problems?
