I treat them with seriousness because it’s possible someone really did have all the catastrophes they describe. I try to stay open to the fact that even though when things appear one way there still is a chance it is not that way. At the same time I’ve told a lot of lies. I recognize good liars and I like the challenge of playing dumb which often is an intelligent way to trip up an obsessive liar playing the obsessive game. Playing dumb is like a chess move.
