In our last class, when the few who showed up to say goodbye decided they wanted to share their faves I was surprised the girl from a very far away non English speaking country, who over the course of the semester I came to learn suffered with serious issues of depression, chose a song by Korn which she said she first got into at eight years old, and then her body uncontrollably came alive pulsating to every kick and tom and with a gleeful smile sung the chorus – the lyrics “kill me, kill me, kill me” in son-of-Darth Vader voice.
