A student read from his journal. Ostensibly the journals are for writing songs but sometimes people just pose philosophical questions. He asked in this excerpt if a robot realized it was a robot would that effect it’s programming? The class mostly agreed it would not because the programming is behind the robot’s actions, but some disagreed. They said if the robot realized it is in fact a robot then that would alter it’s programming. When they asked my opinion all I could think about was that space one hopes to locate when improvising, the place where you achieve something you never did before and you don’t even know how you are doing it but as soon as you notice your thoughts poof it’s gone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
