While G major feels open and bright, G-sharp major can initially seem a bit more closed off, less intuitive. The fingerings shift, the comfortable feeling vanishes. Me anyway. My goal lately has been to bridge the gap. I want to feel as comfortable in G# as I do in G. It&#8217;s about internalizing the sound, the feel, and the inherent character of the key. The true connection comes from immersion. It means improvising, learning songs, and composing in G#. The more time I spend there, the less alien.
