my disgusting realization

I get sick once or twice a year, every year, forever. I always thought it’s about resistance, it’s up or down and didn’t care if people around me were sick. My dahl was pretty comforting too when I did get sick. It is very interesting to me that during Covid, being masked all the time, I have never sneezed or coughed. Now I realize all those people, all those years, leery of being around the sick or touching what the sick person touches or shaking hands with them etc., were factually based. It is amazing I have not ever had a sore throat or nuthin’ since the mask business commenced. My daughter got the sniffles, we kept her home from school and had her tested at the clinic, as school requires etc. and she’s fine, just sniffles. I made dahl a real beauty, heavy on the garlic, berbre, lemon, ginger and turnips, potatoes, onions. Of course she cannot be convinced this is an asset for getting well and tells me it’s disgusting. Everybody in life has to start from the beginning, like learning language or musical intervals.

  1. You’ve recognized something important but oh so simple: handwashing and masking make a difference. We won’t keep up the masking forever, but handwashing has made a difference for me, too, in the past few years. I used to get a cold once or twice a year; since I got into the habit of strict handwashing at the usual advised times, no more colds. Dahl as a treatment, though, is new for me. I’ll have to look up that recipe. -Kate
