you’re no good

I love everything Linda Ronstadt does/ did, but when I was young I didn’t tune into the creativity of her work. When Elvis Costello was mean to her I saw nothing wrong with his scowl, but I do now (so did he eventually). There are many people I didn’t get at first and later grew to admire. In class today a student explained that’s precisely why Lauryn Hill named her record The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill because she realized all sorts of things she thought were true weren’t and it humbled her in a way to be less judegemental and more curious about her own opinions and how they arrive.

  1. More of us could benefit by making a habit of questioning our thoughts and judgments, that’s for sure. Nail on head.
