Sometimes I think the teaching in the classroom might just be asking questions. In last week’s Green Day presentation, a student showed a clip ostensibly proving Billie Joe Armstrong is a courageous anti-authoritarian because ten years ago at the iHeartRadio concert he continued to play and yell fuck you at the promoters and smash his Les Paul when the teleprompter said the band’s set was over in sixty seconds. Apparently BJA expected to play longer. I asked why the student thought it was difficult for someone who is a multi multi multi millionaire to throw a hissy fit? What exactly is courageous there? Crickets and smirks.
