In a student discussion they addressed Orville Peck’s upcoming maskless presence in Cabaret which inclined me to send the student a link of the original film by Bob Fosse. I hope she views it and then I played it for myself. Had not seen it in many years. Fascinating work of art. I was too young to understand it the first time, maybe I was 11 or 12 but transfixed by the music and Joel Grey of course. Such an awesome work of art. I wonder why Liza Minnelli didn’t become a bigger big shot? In Cabaret she was astonishing. I once read Gene Simmons was her manager. A life too weird to believe.
