The Maritimes shows are starting to confirm for October, and it’s giving the fall a kind of shape I didn’t realize I was waiting for. I originally planned to fold Newfoundland into the same run, but the more I looked at flights, ferries, the more obvious it became that Newfoundland deserves its own trip. What’s been unexpectedly touching about planning these dates is how many old friends resurface. People who took me around their cities thirty years ago, are now the ones reaching out saying, “Yeah, come play here again.” Life loops back like that. There’s something comforting about it. Music isn’t just about the shows, it’s about the people who appear along the way, disappear for a decade, then show up again when you’re mapping out a route that feels suspiciously like one you took before.
