Marx’s Favourite Beatle Song

Karl Marx’s favourite Beatle song might be Revolution – but could as easily be argued, I Want You (She’s So Heavy). The fact is he owed everything to women – is what today’s lecture in my class about Marxism was largely about. The professor wanted to impress upon us Marx’s debt to his wife, daughters and the wives and partners of other colleagues and went so far as to say the Russian Revolution also was initiated less by Trotsky and Lenin and more so by the women who demanded Bread, Roses, Peace. He was very excited to quote Marx “Society can be judged by how it treats women and children”. I thought about suggesting the quote needs updating to simply be about respecting everybody but it felt like I would be unnecessarily interrupting his groove. Need to convince professor to let me write about Marx’s favourite Beatle song instead of the 10 points of Das Kapital he requires for our next paper. It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me…
