On the airplane home from Winnipeg there was a woman sitting next to me who had a violin and placed it under the seat in front of her. It is hard for me to not ask musicians about themselves. I played a game with myself – how long could I go without asking her about her instrument? She said it was from the 17th century and she played in an orchestra in Rochester and she has two brothers who also play and her favourite musician movie was Sean Penn’s character in Sweet Low Down. She spent most of the 2 hour flight reading a score by Henry Purcell. I scanned through the list of about 30 movies, nothing jumped out. Glad I selected Deadpool 2 because there was a Jared Kushner joke about 15 minutes in. Laughed so loud everyone in front, behind and next to me turned to see what was wrong.

Hey Bob! My name is David Baxter, I was just watching Hometown Hockey with the Jim Cuddy band and I looked you up on your website. I don’t know if you remember me. I met you I think in 1984. You were working at a group home on Madison Avenue and I was a Child & Youth Worker Placement student. I remember you playing the piano in the living room of the house. Good to see you still invested in music. I’m still working with youth with Mental Health issues at a school in Scarborough. Just thought I would send you this note. David
