working on a piece where whatever my right hand does, the left has to make equally complex passages. trying to do it with my computer and be unconcerned about whether I can execute it myself without technology. i heard once that when glen gould started to articulate to his contemporaries that the studio was more meaningful than live performance, that many fond that line of thought too radical. doesn’t seem radical.
