instant nu state

#11 is known as Blue Poles despite the fact that Jackson Pollock titled it #11. He changed to a numbering method so people wouldn’t bring preconceived ideas to it. The White Album wasn’t called the White Album it was just The Beatles. Chopin never named the Revolutionary Etude or the Sadness Etude something other than a number. Not his doing. For the artist, to position the audience to experience the art without clues from the title pisses off a certain amount of people. Of course only using numbers is a clue in itself, or using no title like the Fabs is another clue. Both indicate the artist wants the work experienced for whatever it is worth to the audience rather than help them along to imagine it in this way or that way. It probably always will fail because people need to gossip or complain or criticize, all hard wired inside us. Probably would be an instant experience of altered state of consciousness to try spending an hour or two lowering the volume of inner gossip, complaints or criticism.
