There was a story about the song Something To Talk About, where Anne Murray thought it was a hit and wanted to record it but her producers, disagreed and rejected her idea. Seems so weird to me that you are the artist but allow other people to stop you from following your instincts. I guess Bonnie Raitt isn’t complaining. Listening to a Canadaland podcast called Dynasty about different families that have manipulated Canada’s economy. Heard the episodes about the Stronachs and the Fords but when I got to the Irvings, the journalist points out New Brunswick is the poorest province yet the Irvings take most of their crazy rich money, move the assets off New Brunswick and hold city or provincial councils hostage for obscene prop tax breaks…but are much admired by the very communities they have made unprosperous. Endlessly interesting that people vote against their self interest, listening to others instead of their guts, believing they are wise to follow them. Like when Trump told his people, there’s going to be so much winning, more winning than anyone has ever seen before.
