The committee listened as the hired gun virtuoso played a solo on the song. They argued about whether it was good enough. Some liked the front end more than the back end, others had the opposite criticism. They asked the soloist to do another… same result. They kept recoding him and after an hour collected twenty-three versions. They felt exhausted and told him he could go home but they wanted to know which was his favourite and he said definitely the fourth take, I don’t think I ever got anything on tape like that before, it doesn’t sound like anybody else. He felt proud. They made a note of it but the fourth version was hard for most of them to follow. In the end the let they head of the committee decide on which was the best solo. He chose the ninth version, it sounded like something he was familiar with.

Going with the solo you are unfamiliar with is a lot like believing in a God you cannot see with your eyes, or touch with your hands. Sometimes you just have to trust in those things that you may not personally be able to relate to.
